India tops poll of gap year destinations

Any students wishing to discover India on their gap years can rest assured they’re in good company. The country has topped the list of most popular gap year destinations, with Peru, Tanzania and China close behind.

The poll, carried out by Year Out Group, an association of leading UK gap year organisations, has found that South Africa and Canada follow, and other countries making up the top ten destinations for structured gap year placements include Ghana, Kenya, Thailand, Australia and Costa Rica.
