Floella’s fast food feast

Floella Benjamin, the Chancellor of Exeter University, has released a range of ready meals.
The meals have a Caribbean influence and there are four different choices on offer.
The “Floella Benjamin’s Caribbean Kitchen” gourmet range includes jerk chicken with rice; calypso chicken and rice; sweet potato, chick pea, and pineapple curry with rice; and curried mutton with rice.
On her website, Benjamin introduces the range by saying that she wants to place “Caribbean cuisine into the Nation’s conscience”.
The website also says that the range contains no additives or artificial preservatives and that they are low in fat and salt.
On her website, Benjamin writes, “As a child my mum taught me to cook and food has always been close to my heart so all the dishes are based on traditional family recipes but with my own unique, contemporary twist created to complement a modern healthy lifestyle.”
The meals are now available to buy in Morrisons.
Floella Benjamin became the Chancellor of Exeter University in 2006.
