Sykes to Conduct Education Review

The shadow schools secretary has called in former Imperial Rector Sir Richard Sykes to conduct a review of the education system.
Imperial's former Rector, Sir Richard Sykes, has not wasted any time diving back into the education system. The critic of A-Levels has been drafted in by the Conservatives to conduct an independent review of the school system, focussing on the value of testing children at seven, eleven and fourteen.
The Government is conducting its own review in light of the chaos surrounding this summer's exam marking, but the Tories are looking to draw their own conclusions. With Sykes conducting the investigation, the results are bound to be quite different - he has proven himself to be a harsh critic of the way the education system in England works, or more commonly, does not work.
Sykes being given such a prominent role in the Conservatives' education policy may signal a new direction for the education system should the governing party change at the next general election.
