Wanted

Why you should see it: It has the most exciting film effects since the Matrix trilogy, it includes a secret assassin fraternity and a a bullet bearing the word ‘Goodbye’, the effects will look awesome on the cinema screen and the sound will blow your mind. Oh, and it stars Angelina Jolie and Morgan Freeman.
Why you shouldn't bother: I can’t think of any reason. Go see it!

The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian

Why you should see it: The effects on the big screen will look out of this world and it looks a lot darker then the first movie.
Why you shouldn’t bother: The first Narnia movie didn’t live up to the hype. And you’ll be sharing the cinema with hundreds of over-excited children.

Hancock

Why you should see it: A super-hero movie with a twist. Will Smith plays the super hero who’s a little too fond of the tipple, and who does some unusual tricks with a man’s anus and another man’s head…
Why you shouldn’t bother: This will be just as good on DVD.

Kung Fu Panda

Why you should see it: Jack Black as a Kung Fu Panda with ‘Everybody was Kung Fu Fighting’ as part of the soundtrack: what's not to love? The story is hilarous there's an awesome star-packed cast including Jackie Chan, Angelina Jolie and Lucy Liu (all as Kung Fu animals of course).
Why you shouldn’t bother: It’s for ages two and up… but we’re all big kids really.

Journey to the Centre of the Earth

Why you should see it: It’s the first ever action 3D adventure movie. It has a gigantic realistic T-Rex and deadly bitey fish. Brilliant.
Why you shouldn't bother: 3D is the new gimmick, and there will be plenty of movies in 3D to watch in the future including a rumoured Final Destination Four.

Mamma Mia!

Why you should see it: It’s based on the hit West End Musical, it stars Meryl Streep and if you like a gooey movie, this will make you feel all warm and tingly inside.
Why you shouldn’t bother: For some, this will be an unbearable 1 hour 45 minute puke-fest, so give it a miss if feel-good flicks aren’t your bag, baby.

The Forbidden Kingdom

Why you should see it:Jackie Chan and Jet Li star side by side for the first time. Awesome Kung Fu skills will be a plenty.
Why you shouldn’t bother: Don’t go if you’re expecting the next Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon/Hero - this is a Jackie Chan film after all.

Released July 18

Wall-E

Wall-E

Why you should see it: It’s the most hotly anticipated animated film of the year, and people are saying this Pixar offering could even be the next ET!
Why you shouldn’t bother: To avoid being disappointed by hype-induced expectations, or because you just don’t like kids’ films.
