Nottingham is burglary hotspot

Students in Nottingham are at the most risk of being burgled, new research has shown.
Endsleigh Insurance has found that residents in the student town are 63% more likely to be victims of household burglary than people living elsewhere.
Unfortunately, there is no evidence the thefts are being carried out against the rich, with proceeds going to the poor. Students are therefore as at risk as the rest of Nottingham’s population.
The hometown of Robin Hood was followed by London, Bristol, Stockport and Leeds in the ‘burglary hotspot’ list.
Students in Guildford though can rest safe in the knowledge that their town is the safest. Other towns with low risks of burglary include Dundee, Norwich, Swindon and Bath.
However, Endsleigh spokesperson Rhiannon Harris warned:
“Every householder in the country needs to be aware of the possibility of burglary."
