Founded in 1887 by Scottish writer Robert Lois Stevenson, Student is the UK’s oldest student newspaper. Previous editors have included a young Gordon Brown and Pop Idol icon Darius Danesh.
Now produced from a basement in the Pleasance in Edinburgh, Student won the Scottish Student Newspaper of the Year award in 2006 and 2007.
Published weekly throughout term time and distributed for free among Edinburgh University’s 26, 000 students, Student contains news, features and opinion from a campus, city and national perspective as well as keeping up to speed with the latest sports and entertainment reviews.
